Camille Colette Studio Jewelry Creation
How are our jewels made?
At Camille Colette Studio, we have one guiding principle: the longevity of our jewelry. Necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings: we want our pieces to accompany you for as long as possible. For us, costume jewelry is synonymous with quality. That's why, even before design and manufacture in our Bordeaux workshop, we carefully select our raw materials. We'll tell you a little more about the basis of goldsmithing: our materials.
Gold filled: the best alternative to solid gold
Most of our pieces are made from 14-carat gold filled wire. The main advantage of this alloy is that it is a high-quality and economical alternative to solid gold. It is water-resistant; you can swim or shower with your jewelry without risk of deterioration. If you take care of it, it will last for years.
At Camille Colette Studio, our gold filled is essentially made from recycled gold. It is our preferred material; it greatly contributes to the quality of our pieces.

Sterling silver 925: a precious alloy
We've also thought of silver jewelry lovers. We make pieces from sterling silver 925, whether or not it's combined with gold filled. It's an alloy composed of 92.5% pure silver (hence the number 925) and 7.5% of another metal, most often copper. This combination makes silver more malleable and resistant. This is the only reference that allows a piece of jewelry to be called "silver".
We chose it because it is a quality, solid and durable material. It is hypoallergenic and easy to care for. It therefore ticks all of Camille Colette Studio's boxes.
Natural stones: the touch of color
Our jewelry is then set with natural, or semi-precious, stones. They bring the colorful touch, a fundamental element of Camille Colette Studio's DNA. These raw materials come from Asia.
Rhodonite
Rhodonite is a pink stone with cloudy inclusions. In lithotherapy, it is linked to the heart chakra and symbolizes love and affection. In ancient times, it was given as a gift to signify one's feeling of friendship. It is also said to be useful in love and to promote positive energies within the couple. Rhodonite is also believed to have the power to reduce anxiety and stress.
Amethyst
Amethyst is a quartz crystal with violet hues. Its color ranges from light to dark violet, with varying intensity, sometimes on the same stone. In lithotherapy, it is one of the most powerful stones for protecting against negative energies. It is said to have soothing and purifying properties. It is believed to be very beneficial for the mind and to help achieve balance and serenity.
Amazonite
Amazonite is a stone with shades ranging from greenish-blue to light turquoise blue, opaque to translucent. Its name refers to the Amazon River, where it was supposedly first discovered. It pays homage to the Amazon warriors and therefore symbolizes courage. In lithotherapy, amazonite is synonymous with tenderness, appeasement, and serenity. It is believed to have the property of warding off all forms of negative thoughts.
Quartz
Quartz is a mineral that is generally colorless, but can take on many hues. At Camille Colette Studio, we use rose quartz for the creation of our jewelry. It is a stone synonymous with peace, love, and friendship. It helps those who wear it to forgive, but also to respect both themselves and others.
Aventurine
Aventurine is a variety of quartz. It is a green, slightly translucent stone. It has mineral or metallic inclusions that vary its color. It is said to have virtues of introspection and prosperity. It would bring positive solutions and general well-being. A stone of inner peace par excellence, it would also facilitate open-mindedness.
Lapis Lazuli
Lapis lazuli comes from the Latin "lapis" meaning "stone", and the Arabic "azul" meaning "blue". It is highly prized for its intense blue color. Many virtues are attributed to this stone. It is said to bring self-confidence to the wearer. It would promote communication, friendly and loving relationships. It would allow one to find balance, creativity, joy of life, and dynamism.
Citrine
Citrine is a variety of quartz, also known as lemon quartz. It is a pale yellow, sometimes golden yellow, rock with a translucent luster. In lithotherapy, it is a stone of abundance that would help bring professional and financial projects to fruition. Citrine is also believed to have the power to ward off fears, blockages, and even illness. It is a positive stone that would bring joy and good humor.
Mother-of-pearl: timeless and elegant
Mother-of-pearl comes from the inner lining of certain shells. It is widely used in goldsmithing, particularly for its iridescent reflections that make it unique and precious. It can come in a wide range of shades, from white to pink, including gray or black. It is a strong and durable material. Its composition allows it to withstand pressure and shocks. Mother-of-pearl is timeless and elegant. Moreover, it is hypoallergenic, an ideal characteristic for jewelry manufacturing.
Sea bamboo: in perfect harmony with Camille Colette Studio
Sea bamboo is a whitish plant found mainly in Asia. When dyed red, it closely resembles coral. As coral is a protected marine species, sea bamboo proves to be a very good alternative. It is an ideal organic material for making Camille Colette Studio jewelry; it perfectly matches our colorful and marine identity.
Freshwater pearls: unique, like our jewelry
Camille Colette Studio pieces are made from cultured pearls. To obtain them, a foreign body is placed inside a shell. The shell then produces nacre around this "undesirable element" to protect itself, thus forming a pearl. This process is natural; consequently, the shape of the pearls is completely random and it is rare for them to be perfectly round. This makes each one unique and singular, which is entirely in line with the brand's philosophy.
Glass: a historic jewelry material
Glass is a material that is part of our daily lives; we see it on our tables or in our windows. But originally, it was widely used in goldsmithing. Indeed, a glass bead is impermeable, strong, durable and hypoallergenic. Perfect for making jewelry! At Camille Colette Studio, we have therefore decided to restore its primary function. Well maintained, our glass pieces can accompany you for many years.
All these materials perfectly meet Camille Colette Studio's specifications: solidity, resistance, durability. They are an integral part of our brand's DNA. If you are looking for unique and singular jewelry, with marine and colorful inspirations, our pieces are made for you!
